The Department of Veterinary Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine is dedicated to the study of disease occurrence, distribution, and control in animal populations. The main objective of the department is to impart quality education and practical training to undergraduate and postgraduate students in the areas of animal disease surveillance, prevention, and control. The department actively engages in teaching, research, and extension activities focusing on epidemiology, herd health management, immunization programs, and biosecurity measures. It also provides training and diagnostic services related to disease outbreak investigations, vaccination strategies, and preventive healthcare, thereby contributing significantly to animal health, productivity, and public health protection through effective disease monitoring and preventive medicine approaches.
