The Department of Physiology runs an observatory – aided, approved and recognized by the prestigious Indian Meteorology Department, Pune.

With this the COVAS, Udgir has become THE FIRST VETERINARY COLLEGE, IN THE COUNTRY, HAVING ITS OWN OBSERVATORY.

The observatory undertakes the recording of various meteorological data and helps undertaking various research aspects of Animal Physiology, responses and adaptation. The future plan of the observatory is to generate a new branch of research in Vet. Physiology, i.e. VETEROMETEOROLOGY.

This has been helping in inculcating interest and awareness about the subject among the students as well as farmers and common folk in the outskirts.
